Capture of Dunstable

The Capture of Dunstable took place on 7 October 1326. Isabella of France captured Dunstable in Bedfordshire, 30 miles north of London. Edward II of England did nothing to at least post a garrison of men and the town was taken without a fight.

Isabella captured London on October 2. Edward II evacuated the city before it fell with his lover, Hugh Despenser the younger. Isabella decided to take the town overlooking the city, Dunstable. Edward's army were already in retreat, so the Isabella and Mortimer's army were allowed to take Dunstable without a fight. Isabella further moved from here to capture Bristol.
